President of the Together for Serbia (ZzS) Nebojsa Zelenovic has stated that it is completely scandalous that the Government has nominated Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) reported Ivona Pantelic as a member of the supervisory committee for monitoring the behavior of political parties, candidate and media during the election campaign.

Pantelic is known to be best friends with Biljana Popovic, State Secretary with the Ministry of Interior, former RTS speaker and the wife of Bane Ivkovic, a SNS official and former SPS minister.

“This is Vucic’s interpretation of democracy and freedom of media, just like all autocratic rulers. He is planning on now formally, through the police, supervise the media and the entire election process.”

“Instead of creating conditions for a normal political life, in the interest of all the citizens of Serbia, Vucic is continuing to cause an increasingly deeper crisis, for whose consequences he will be personally responsible,” Zelenovic concluded.

Nebojsa Zelenovic, one of the leaders of the Alliance for Serbia (SzS) and president of Together for Serbia (ZzS), stated on Sunday that fair elections will be the condition that the opposition leaders will make clear in Brussels and that they will present to the European Parliament their views on the political drama that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has created in the country.

“We are resolute in stance and it is good that we will have the opportunity to inform the European MPs about this. It is our goal to take part in the elections, and that will happen when the demands for fair elections are met,” Zelenovic said, as reported by the Beta agency.

The dismissal of all the members of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM) and the election of nine new members, with previously reaching a consensus on them, would represent an essential beginning of negotiations on creating conditions for free elections, Zelenovic said. He also said that in Brussels he will clearly say that the regime is pushing Serbia towards civic clashes, which could have inconceivable consequences.

“The unprecedented campaign against all those who speak out critically against the government, which is being carried out through unscrupulous attacks on independent media, journalists, professors, actors, judges, the shameless house detention of whistleblower Aleksandar Obradovic, as well as the existence of 230,000 citizens of Serbia held under contract by the government in the public sector, forcing them to collect capillary votes and mobilize criminals for their electoral machinery, creates completely unbearable living conditions,” Zelenovic concluded.

By organizing rallies of support to himself and representing them as ostensibly spontaneous gatherings of his followers, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is provoking civic conflicts in the country, said the leader of Together for Serbia Nebojsa Zelenovic on Tuesday.

“At the rallies of support to himself in Nis and Kragujevac, he targeted [one of the leaders of the opposition bloc Alliance for Serbia] Dragan Djilas. Tomorrow the target will be someone else, anyone who dares to speak out about the financial malpractices of the authorities and the torture which is carried out against everyone who thinks differently”, said Zelenovic, who is also the Mayor of Sabac. “To these rallies, Vucic brings employees in government services and public companies, by force, under threat of being fired, in busses. They themselves do not know exactly why they have come, but they are told that they have to shout, chant and threaten”, he said.

Vucic is “putting the heads of his political opponents on the block” and it is only a matter of moments when, on behalf of the authorities, “some frenzied executioner [will appear] and then the country will slide into a catastrophe”, continued Zelenovic.

“I call on Vucic to create conditions for a normal political life and free and honest elections since it is also in his best interest to descend from power in a peaceful way at the elections. Everyone who is well-meaning knows that such a thug-like manner of governing is unsustainable, that it is an unsustainable situation to in a European country in the 21st century have a man governing who is daily drowning in affairs”, he said.

President of the opposition party Together for Serbia (ZzS), a member of the Alliance for Serbia (SzS) and the United Democratic Party (UDS) Nebojsa Zelenovic stated on Saturday that at least four of the ministers of the current Serbian Government had suspicious undergraduate degrees, and called on the minister of education to check the validity of their diplomas.

“The undergraduate studies degrees of Minister of Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic, Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Labor Zoran Djordjevic and Minister of Energy Aleksandar Antic have to be thoroughly checked. The public has to finally learn when they enrolled university, how long they studied, what exams they took, and which professors signed their grade and diplomas.“, Zelenovic said.

“None of them have fellow students, attended labs and lectures, so they could hardly pass exams, let alone legally graduate. Stefanovic himself said that he studied a non-existent faculty at the Sava congress center, Vulin lived in Novi Sad so it is interesting that he gradated from the faculty of law in Kragujevac where he never lived, Djordjevic is a former chauffer and no one knows where and what degree he obtained, and everyone who knows Aleksandar Antic say that he never studied anywhere.“

“I call on the mentioned minister to show photos from the amphitheatres or from the official graduation ceremony – whoever studied keeps that as a dear and cherished memento.“

“Determining the plagiarized doctoral thesis of Sinisa Mali is just the tip of the iceberg. All of Serbia knows that hundreds of state officials have false diplomas from private faculties and it is time to clear up that issue. The future the Law on the Anticorruption Agency must include the obligation of all office holders to submit detailed information on their education,” Zelenovic concluded.

The leader of Together for Serbia (ZzS) and the Mayor of Sabac Nebojsa Zelenovic requested of Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic to schedule an extraordinary Parliament session in the next 24 hours on which the false PhD Mali would be deposed.

“The University managed to resisted an unseen pressure from the government and reach the only possible decision. The whole country knows for five years already that Mali is a fraud and the damage that he has done to the University and Serbia’s reputation in the world is unmeasurable.

“Imagine what is being said today in the world international institutions, after it has been proven that our Finance Minister is a simple fraud. “Mali is a man with one thousand scandals, from demolition in Savamala, through domestic violence, suspicious offshore companies, enormous property, breaches of Law on Battle against Corruption, suspicious business of his brother”, Zelenovic reiterated.

A five-year waiting period resulted in what has been obvious and inevitable: The Committee for Professional Ethics of the Belgrade University proposed to the University Senate to proceed in line with the rulebook on the voidance of doctor thesis in the case of Minister Sinisa Mali after non-academic conduct has been established in his work, University rector Ivanka Popovic declared earlier today.

„Sinisa Mali has breached the code of ethics of the University as he inserted texts of other authors without naming the source“, the rector told journalists in front of the Rectorate building in central Belgrade.

The Professional Ethics Committee unanimously determines Mali’s non-academic conduct in the making of his PhD. Mali translated or transcribed more than forty percent of “his” work, without even naming the real authors. Mali’s PhD was challenged more than five years ago when university professors accused him of plagiarizing a portion of his work. With the help of pro-government university structures at the University and its faculties, the decision regarding obvious larceny had been postponed or formally challenged, with the initial investigation of thesis content going the farthest when “experts” concluded that Mali’s PhD contains only seven percent of plagiarism, but that this does not affect its quality and originality.
