Serbia is “on the brink of a civil conflict”, stated the leader of Together for Serbia Nebojsa Zelenovic on Tuesday. “The country is on the brink of a civil conflict into which it is pushed by President Aleksandar Vucic. (...) It is the last moment to stop Vucic in his dangerous intention to turn verbal violence into physical terror”, stated Zelenovic, who is also the Mayor of Sabac, in a written statement.

“In the past several days the situation is becoming increasingly radicalized, since Vucic gave instructions to extreme right-wingers, paid journalists and analysts to embark on a witch-hunt and publically threaten all the free journalists, and particularly the journalists of N1 TV, who have the courage to ask him anything that he does not like”, he stated, adding that the situation had “escalated” when Vucic sent his media advisor, Suzana Vasiljevic, to on a television with a national frequency “threaten all those who think differently”.

“The whole of Serbia knows that it is Vasiljevic who, at Vucic’s instruction, edits virtually all the media in Serbia, and carries out media witch-hunts against everyone whom Vucic marks as a personal enemy, and she is now drawing targets on the foreheads of unsuitable journalists”, Zelenovic concluded.
